Scholarship
The Southern Public Relations Federation Student Scholarship is designed to support the academic advancement of outstanding students pursuing careers in communications. With a strong emphasis on developing the next generation of public relations professionals, this scholarship recognizes individuals who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to the field.
Award
One recipient will receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship, awarded during the annual SPRF Conference.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- An SPRF student member in good standing.
- Membership is gained by joining a local affiliated organization like PRAL, PRAM, PRCA or ECPRO.
- A full-time junior or senior (+60 completed credit hours) enrolled at a four-year accredited college or university as of September 22, 2026.
- Be pursuing an undergraduate degree in a communications-related field of study
- e.g., public relations, journalism, advertising, marketing, mass communication, or related disciplines
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale reflected on a current transcript.
Application Materials:
- One-page essay submission (500-1,000 words) on an explanation of your goals and desired roles in the public relations field.
- A written summary of public relations activities, both professional and volunteer
- Two letters of recommendation
- One from a faculty member
- One from an SPRF member other than your faculty member
- Current transcript (digital copy)
All materials must be submitted by August 31, 2026.
