Betsie Gambel
Betsie Gambel is one of the most respected public relations professionals in the Greater New Orleans area and has over 25 years experience in all aspects of public relations. She founded her public relations agency – Gambel Communications – in 2009 and has seen the business grow tremendously in just four short years.
Gambel began her career as an English teacher at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans before realizing her passion for public relations and marketing while volunteering with New Orleans Junior League. She is a graduate of Sweet Briar College, the New Orleans Leadership Institute and the Goldman-Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program.
She has been recognized by New Orleans CityBusiness as a "Woman of the Year" and named a "Role Model" by both the YWCA and the Young Leadership Council. The American Cancer Society recognized Gambel as a Cancer Crusader, and she was also recognized as a New Orleans Magazine 2013 Woman of Achievement.
Most recently, Gambel was named the 2013 Small Business Administration's Region VI Women in Business Champion, picked over all others in her category from Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.
